Service And Maintenance Technician

Fraser Valley, BC | Full-Time | $28–$32/hr

MacQueen Systems is launching something new. MacQueen Home Care is a dedicated residential maintenance subscription service for Fraser Valley homeowners — and we are hiring the first technicians who will define what that standard looks like. If you take pride in your craft and want to be the person homeowners trust with their biggest investment, this is the ground-floor opportunity you have been waiting for.

About the Role

As a Service & Maintenance Technician at MacQueen Systems, you are the face of our home care division. You will work directly in clients’ homes, building lasting relationships while delivering high-quality maintenance, repairs, and inspections across a wide range of residential systems.

This is not a single-trade role. We are looking for a well-rounded tradesperson who can walk into a home and confidently handle whatever comes up — from a drywall patch to a seasonal maintenance checklist to a detailed home inspection. You will be given the tools, the vehicle, and the support to do the job right.

The work is varied, the clients appreciate it, and the standard is high. That is exactly how we like it.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Performing residential maintenance visits on a scheduled subscription basis
  • Carrying out drywall repairs, painting touch-ups, caulking, and minor carpentry
  • Conducting detailed home inspections and condition assessments
  • Handling general repairs: doors, windows, fixtures, hardware, and weatherproofing
  • Assisting with seasonal maintenance: gutters, exterior prep, and filter changes
  • Documenting work performed, materials used, and observations at each property
  • Communicating professionally with homeowners before, during, and after each visit
  • Flagging deficiencies and recommending follow-up work to the service coordinator
  • Representing MacQueen’s brand with every interaction — punctuality, appearance, and communication all matter

What We Are Looking For:

  • 3 or more years of hands-on residential maintenance, renovation, or construction experience
  • Broad skill set across multiple trades: carpentry, drywall, painting, and basic plumbing and electrical knowledge
  • Able to diagnose and prioritize on the fly
  • Comfortable with detailed documentation and photo reporting
  • Experience working in occupied homes with care and respect
  • Valid BC driver’s licence and clean driving abstract
  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Bondable. A criminal record check is required for in-home work.

Who You Are:

  • You take your work personally — not just that it is done, but that it is done right
  • You are a natural communicator who puts people at ease
  • You show up on time, in clean clothes, and ready to work
  • You are self-directed in the field but operate as part of a team
  • You catch problems before clients do
  • You are comfortable being the expert in the room without acting like it

Our Standards in the Field

Because we work in people’s homes, how you show up matters as much as what you do when you get there. Every MacQueen technician follows a non-negotiable field standard:

  • Arrive on time. If something changes, communicate before the appointment — not after.
  • Clean boots or shoe covers at the door. Always. Without being asked.
  • Work area left cleaner than you found it.
  • Never touch anything beyond the scope of the visit without checking in.
  • Communicate clearly with the homeowner before leaving — what was done, what was noted, what is next.
  • Vehicle kept clean. Appearance reflects the company.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $28–$32/hr based on experience
  • Company vehicle provided — no wear on your own truck
  • Full tool kit and consumables supplied
  • Extended health and dental benefits
  • Paid training and skills development
  • Consistent, scheduled work — no chasing leads
  • Ground-floor opportunity with room to grow into a lead role

We are not your typical GC and this is not your typical maintenance job. We are building a division from the ground up and we are looking for the people who will set the standard for what it becomes. If you take pride in your work, respect the homes you are in, and want to be part of something that is growing with intention — this is the role.

Sales Representative

Fraser Valley, BC | Full-Time

MacQueen Systems is a general contracting and construction management company based in the Fraser Valley. We work across four divisions: renovations and additions, earthworks and septic, custom homes, and commercial projects. We have built a strong reputation since 2021 and we have consistent lead flow to match it.

We are adding a sales rep to the team.

What the Job Is

The people who reach out to us have a vision. A home they want to transform. A property they want to build on. A project they have been thinking about for years. The role is to understand that vision, sometimes better than the client can articulate it, and help them see how to bring it to life.

This is not a role where someone shows up, collects measurements, and emails a number. Our sales team is the first real impression most clients have of this company. That conversation matters. The trust built in it matters. For many of our clients, the outcome of their project starts with how well they were listened to in that first meeting.

The role covers all four divisions. Site visits, scoping, proposals, follow-through to a signed contract, and a clean handoff to the production team.

What We Are Looking For:

  • A self-starter who manages their own time, their own pipeline, and their own performance without needing to be pointed at the next thing
  • Genuine enthusiasm for someone else’s project. The ability to sit at a kitchen table with a homeowner, ask the right questions, and really listen to the answers
  • A background in residential construction sales, renovation sales, or a closely related trade environment. You know what a job costs, what it takes to deliver it, and how to write a proposal that reflects both the client’s vision and the company’s standards
  • Strong organizational habits and a clean digital workflow. A well-maintained calendar, a current CRM, and a pipeline that reflects reality. Proposals do not sit. Leads do not go dark.
  • Clean-cut and professional presentation. This role puts you in client homes and on active job sites regularly

Requirements:

  • 3 or more years in construction or renovation sales in BC
  • Demonstrated experience with a CRM and a digital sales workflow
  • Track record of closing, not just quoting
  • Valid BC driver’s licence and clean driving abstract

The Package

  • Competitive base plus performance bonus tied to bookings and margin
  • Phone, laptop, and full tool stack provided
  • Health benefits
  • Direct access to ownership and the COO
  • Real growth path as the team scales

Why MacQueen

We know what we build and who we build it for. The reputation is real and the lead flow matches it. What we are building now is the team to match both.

If this sounds like the right fit, we would like to hear from you.

Lead Carpenter

Chilliwack, BC | Full-Time | $32–$40/hr

MacQueen Systems is a Fraser Valley general contractor running residential renovations, custom homes, additions, and select commercial projects across Chilliwack and the surrounding area. We own our crews, we hold a high standard on quality, and we are growing. We are looking for a Lead Carpenter to anchor our framing and structural work, lead a small crew, and take real ownership of jobs from the ground up.

About the Role

This is a working lead position. You are on the tools every day and you are also running the people working beside you. You have the experience to know what good work looks like at every stage, and you hold yourself and your crew to that standard consistently. You could take a custom residential build from footings to lock-up and make the right call at every stage without being told twice.

You will lead a crew of one to three MacQueen carpenters depending on the job, and you will work alongside subcontractors on site, helping guide sequencing and quality as the project moves forward. You set the standard, and the people working under you rise to meet it. The project manager has your back on the office side. The site is yours.

Framing and structural work is the core of this role. Beyond that, we are looking for someone with a solid, well-rounded understanding of all core aspects of residential construction. You do not have to be the master of every trade, but you need to know how the work at each stage connects to what comes next, and you need to be able to make informed decisions across the full scope of a build.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Leading framing and structural work on custom residential builds, additions, and major renovations
  • Running a crew of one to three carpenters: task assignment, pacing, quality checks, and on-site mentorship
  • Working alongside subcontractors on active sites, helping coordinate sequencing and holding quality standards across trades
  • Reading and working from plans and drawings, identifying issues early and flagging them before they become problems downstream
  • Managing material lists and site organization so the job moves without unnecessary delays
  • Communicating clearly with the project manager on progress, blockers, timelines, and material needs
  • Performing finish carpentry and punch list work as required, with an understanding of what quality looks like at handover
  • Keeping job sites clean, organized, and safe at all times

What We Are Looking For:

  • Red Seal Carpenter certification strongly preferred. Candidates who are eligible to challenge the Red Seal exam will be considered.
  • 10 or more years of hands-on residential carpentry with a heavy emphasis on framing, structural work, and custom builds.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a small crew. You have set the standard on a site before and held people to it.
  • Strong plan reading ability. You can work from drawings, spot conflicts, and adapt on the fly.
  • Solid understanding of how framing and rough work sets up every trade that follows, including mechanical, electrical, and finish.
  • Comfortable working alongside subcontractors and providing informal guidance on sequencing and site standards.
  • Self-directed and high-output. You know what needs to be done and you move without being managed.
  • Professional and reliable. You show up on time, you communicate when something changes, and you take pride in the work.
  • Bondable. A criminal record check is part of our standard hiring process.
  • Valid BC driver’s licence with a clean abstract.

What Success Looks Like:

You take a job from footings to lock-up with minimal supervision and your framing stands up to scrutiny at every stage. The trades following you are not fixing your work, they are building on it. Your crew is getting better because of the standard you hold, and the project manager knows your jobs are running clean without having to chase you for updates.

Growth Path:

Lead Carpenters who demonstrate strong judgment, site leadership, and the ability to manage quality across a crew are developed into site superintendent roles as the company grows. We promote from within and we invest in people who take the work seriously.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $32–$40/hr based on experience, certification, and demonstrated capability
  • Company truck, tools, and phone provided
  • Full-time, year-round work across the Fraser Valley
  • Extended health and dental benefits

We are not your typical GC and we are not looking for a typical hire. We are a crew that shows up, frames clean, and delivers work the trades behind us can count on. If you are ready to own a site, lead people, and build something you are proud to put your name on, this could be your next move.

Junior Project Coordinator

Chilliwack, BC | Full-Time, Salaried

MacQueen Systems is a Fraser Valley general contractor operating across four divisions: residential renovations, new builds, earthworks, and select commercial. We run a high volume of concurrent projects and we are built on systems. We are looking for a Junior Project Coordinator to own the back-end coordination of our smaller project portfolio and help us build the processes that keep this company running well at scale.

About the Role

This is a coordination role with real ownership. You will be responsible for keeping a portfolio of smaller jobs on track from start to closeout, working alongside site superintendents, subcontractors, and project managers to make sure the right things are happening at the right time.
The work is fast-paced and detail-driven. On any given day you might be tracking a subcontractor schedule, following up on a material delivery, updating a client on their project status, or documenting a change order before it gets lost. The jobs in your portfolio are smaller in scope, typically renovations, decks, and additions, but they move quickly and they run in parallel. Staying organized across all of them is the job.
We are a process-improvement culture. You will not just follow the systems we have built. You will be expected to identify gaps, flag inefficiencies, and help define better ways of working. If you see something that could run cleaner, we want to hear it and we will act on it.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Coordinating the day-to-day progress of smaller jobs: scheduling site supers, subcontractors, and material deliveries to keep jobs on sequence
  • Serving as the primary point of contact between the office and field on assigned jobs, keeping project managers informed of status, blockers, and schedule risk
  • Tracking job budgets, committed costs, and purchase orders against the estimate on each active job
  • Maintaining Buildertrend across your portfolio: schedule, daily logs, subcontractor assignments, change orders, and documentation current at all times
  • Supporting client communication on active jobs: progress updates, outstanding decisions, and change order coordination
  • Tracking open RFIs, outstanding selections, and pending approvals so jobs do not stall waiting on information
  • Identifying gaps in how we run smaller jobs and working with the project management team to define and document better processes
  • Supporting project closeout: deficiency tracking, final documentation, and warranty handoff

What We Are Looking For:

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills. You can manage multiple jobs simultaneously and know where each one stands at any given moment.
  • Comfortable with numbers. You can read a job budget, track costs against an estimate, and flag a variance before it becomes a problem.
  • Detail-oriented and process-minded. You notice when something is missing and you think about how to prevent it from happening again.
  • Proficient with computers: spreadsheets, email, project management software, and mobile apps. Buildertrend experience is an asset but not required.
  • Familiar with how construction job sites operate. You do not need to be a tradesperson, but you need to understand scheduling logic, subcontractor sequencing, and site communication.
  • Clear communicator in writing and in person. You can hold a direct conversation with a site super or a homeowner and adjust your approach accordingly.
  • Professional presentation. You will occasionally be client-facing and on active job sites.
  • Reliable personal vehicle. Work spans the Fraser Valley with the majority currently in Chilliwack.
  • Fraser Valley local or willing to commute to Chilliwack daily.

What Success Looks Like:

After six months, your assigned jobs are consistently on schedule, budget variances are caught early, and the project managers supporting you are spending less time chasing status updates. You have documented at least one process improvement that we have adopted across the division. You know your jobs cold without needing to be asked.

Growth Path:

Coordinators who demonstrate strong judgment, financial literacy, and systems thinking are developed into full project managers with their own portfolios. We build our PM team from within and we invest in people who take the work seriously.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $60,000 starting salary
  • Phone and laptop provided
  • Benefits package

We are not your typical GC and we are not looking for a typical hire. We are a crew that shows up, works hard, keeps things clean, and delivers projects that feel great to hand over. If you are ready to take pride in the process and be a key part of a growing team, this could be your next move.
