MacQueen Systems is a multi-division construction and earthworks company based in Chilliwack, BC. We handle home renovations, custom home builds, commercial construction, earthworks, and septic work under one roof. We back every project with a licensed, insured team and a milestone-based payment schedule so clients always know where things stand.
We didn’t start out as a multi-division operation. We grew into one, and we grew because of how we work, not because of a marketing push. Every project runs on the same principle: do what we say we’ll do, communicate honestly even when that’s uncomfortable, and treat the relationship as more important than any single transaction. That approach is why homeowners who hired us for a single renovation come back for a commercial build, and why our earthworks crews get called in on projects our construction teams are already running.
As Chilliwack and the wider Fraser Valley keep adding new residents and new development, that growth has pulled us into bigger and more varied work: full-home remodels, ground-up custom builds, warehouse and retail construction, and the excavation and septic work that has to happen before any of it can begin. We built dedicated teams for each of those disciplines instead of subcontracting them out, so the same standards apply whether we’re framing a deck or trenching a utility line.
Trust in a contractor isn’t a feeling. It’s a set of facts you can check, so here’s ours:
None of that replaces the work of a good crew, but it’s the part of the job clients can’t see on site, and it’s the part that determines whether a project stays on track when something changes.
Our leadership doesn’t sit behind a desk waiting for updates. Office staff who coordinate permits and field crews who run the installations share the same standard: take ownership of the outcome, not just the task in front of you. That’s what makes it possible for a homeowner’s renovation and a commercial client’s warehouse build to get the same level of attention.
Every project we take on follows the same structure, whether it’s a single-room update or a ground-up commercial build: requirements gathering first, then a budget before design work begins, pricing locked in once scope is finalized, weekly portal updates while work is underway, clearly documented change orders, and warranty support once the job wraps up. Consistency in the process is what keeps a project on budget when the scope inevitably shifts.
We’re not a construction company that happens to be located in the Fraser Valley. We’re a Fraser Valley company that does construction. Being part of this community means showing up for it outside of job sites, and it shapes how we hire, who we partner with, and which local projects we take on.
